Fishing at Navarre Pier is one of my most cherished child hood memories. My dad started taking me when I was 8 years old. I have met many good friends and caught hundreds of fish over the years. Some days are exciting, others are relaxing and you never know who you might meet or what you might catch.
The Pier’s History
I have been fishing the pier for a long time, but it has been around a lot longer than me. It was first built in 1974 and since then, been ravaged by hurricanes, including; hurricane Opal in 1995, Hurricane Ivan, in 2004 and Hurricane Dennis, in 2005. I first started fishing on the pier right after they reopened it on June 5, 2010. Found here

“The Longest Pier on the Gulf.”
Navarre Pier has also been given the title, “The Longest Pier on the Gulf.” With it’s outstanding, 1,545 foot length, it is the longest pier in the Gulf of Mexico. It has an impressive height of 30 feet to prevent waves from crashing over the top. The end of the pier, which is an octagon, has a 3,800 square foot surface to fit an incredible amount of fishermen.
