My time in Cozumel
Cozumel is a beautiful place and attracts a lot of tourists. People consider Cozumel to be “a divers paradise”. This is because of its amazing coral reefs, and the islands calm current which makes snorkeling easy and low energy. The snorkeling tour we did was beautiful and a one of a kind experience, cozumelcruiseexcursions.net. The reefs aren’t the last of its attractions; people like to go on ATV tours through the jungle, swim with Stingrays, and visit the unique Mayan ruins. Cozumel also brings in a lot of younger tourists due to their legal drinking age being 18. With the time I spent in Cozumel, I made the most amazing memories that I will share with you.
I went to Cozumel with my family and boyfriend last December. We went on ATV tours, snorkeled, and spent a lot of time relaxing at a resort. On our ATV tour, we were split into three groups: Advanced, Medium, and Beginner. Although I was familiar with how to drive and work one I still wanted to go in the medium group just to be safe. Of course my boyfriend insisted we go in the advanced, which ended up being a big mistake. We still argue about it to this day, he says “You told me you knew how to drive a four-wheeler.” which I respond to with “There is a big difference between driving a four-wheeler on open land and driving one on a narrow path filled with potholes, rocks, and tree roots”. Although it was super fun, I did almost reck into a million trees and got close to flying off the front of the ATV. I mean, they wanted me to drive 35mph over tree roots and potholes while weighing 108lbs, I still can’t believe I managed to stay on the thing. After the tour we went to a resort. A little boy probably around 8 years old came up to me and made me a flower out of thin green leaves.
My absolute favorite part while visiting Cozumel was going to a resort on the beach, “Mr. Sanchos“. It was beautiful there and the staff was so extremely friendly, you could tell they just wanted everyone to have the best time. They had hammocks and canopies all throughout the beach, along with masseuses ready to go for anyone who wanted a massage. All that being said, my favorite part of this resort was the all inclusive food and drinks. I think any 18 year old would be most excited for this, being that you are legally old enough to drink in Cozumel. This resort gave me and my mom a lot of amazing bonding time, along with my boyfriend Jackson. On our way back to the cruise port there was a shopping outlet. We all stopped to look in a couple of stores, and that is when a man tried to sell my boyfriend an engagement ring. This is so funny to look back on, keep in mind we had been drinking that day, and this man was so persistent with selling Jackson this ring. We ended up sneaking out of the store in order to spare this mans feelings, but let’s be real, we are too young to be engaged.
Cozumel is a great place to visit. Along with its many tourist attractions, it has the prettiest waters and landscape. This trip gave my family and I a lot of time to bond and spend time together. I wish I could go back every year it was truly amazing, the memories I’ve made are unmatched and I couldn’t imagine vacationing anywhere else.
